SUMMARY

 

Coordinate the Individual Education Plan (IEP) process at assigned campuses, including scheduling and conducting IEP meetings, ensuring appropriate services and timely completion and dissemination of paperwork.  Work collaboratively with administrative, assessment and instructional personnel to support service delivery to students with disabilities. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Coordinates/collaborates with regular education personnel to maximize opportunities for student success.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree; Valid Texas Teaching Certificate; 3 years Special Education teaching experience

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general educational periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental laws and regulations.  Ability to write reports, educational correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, faculty, parents, students and the community.  Strong communications, public relations, and interpersonal skills. 

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 

 

REASONING ABILITIES 

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. 

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

Special Education Certification required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and is regularly required to travel in-district.  The employee must be able to maintain emotional control under stress.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
