Description

SUMMARY

 

To assist the Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE) in professional development, mentoring new teachers, facilitating instructional effectiveness, and other program initiatives in order to provide students with the appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth; To assist the Director of CTE to enable students to develop skills to successfully enter workforce and/or college.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

 

  • Assists in sharing instructional strategies with staff individually and/or in workshop settings
  • Assists in the orientation, development, and success of new teachers
  • Provides instructional guidance to teachers
  • Observes, coaches, and provides feedback to CTE teachers regarding all aspects of instruction, student engagement, and classroom environment
  • Assists CTE teachers with designing and implementing instructional differentiation practices for special populations
  • Models engaging instructional techniques
  • Assists in planning and implementing campus and district professional development programs appropriate to instructional needs
  • Assists teachers in using assessment data to focus classroom instruction
  • Assists in serving as a CTE ARD representative
  • Assists in CTE website management
  • Monitors appropriate use and care of equipment, materials and facilities
  • Maintains appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices
  • Maintains current knowledge of all pertinent rules and regulations affecting Career and Technical Education
  • Serves as a positive role model that supports the mission of the District, CTE program, and campus
  • Communicates and interacts with students, parents, staff and the community in a positive manner
  • Assists in the selection of instructional materials and equipment
  • Manage curriculum access for CTE teachers
  • Maintains a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
  • Uses acceptable communication skills to present information accurately and clearly
  • Participates in the district’s professional development program
  • Compiles, maintains, and files all reports, records, and other documents required
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree, Valid Texas Teaching Certificate in a Career and Technical Education related area, and three years of teaching experience required. Administrative experienced preferred.

 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from students, administration, staff, parents, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of educational instructions in diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS and ABILITIES

Ability to utilize computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Work, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to interpret computer printout data.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Texas Teaching Certification, Career and Technical Education related area preferred
