SUMMARY
To help maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use is available at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Performs assigned tasks under the supervision of the General Maintenance Supervisor.
- Capable of doing drywall finishing and/or plaster.
- Prepares interior and exterior surfaces for painting operation.
- Willingness to be “ON CALL" after hours on a rotating basis.
- Capable of texturing interior surface for painting.
- Knowledgeable of conventional air compressor and spray equipment.
- Knowledgeable of high pressure water blaster.
- Is prompt and thorough in completing jobs and attends to details accurately, promptly, and efficiently.
- Must be able to set up and tear down scaffolding.
- Observes precautions required for safety when working in potentially dangerous situations.
- Demonstrates ability to work with others in a positive, productive manner.
- Capable of maintaining, refinishing, and lining chalkboards.
- Performs other tasks as may be assigned by Supervisor/Superintendent.

QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated skill in performing tasks required in assignment, ability to follow oral and written instruction.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED, three years experience in painting trade.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Texas divers license, must meet insurability criteria
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Occasional strenuous walking, standing, bending, and climbing, occasionally moderately heavy lifting up to 75 pounds, considerable stooping and kneeling, frequent use of hand and power tools.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Tobacco free, work indoors and outdoors in extreme temperatures including hot, cold temperature swings and inclement weather. |
